KOSDAQ-listed Hyper Corporation (065650, formerly Medifron, CEO Lee Sang-seok) announced on the 10th that it is collaborating with MAKEUS, the operator of 'Dingo,' to enter the global content industry. MAKEUS is an affiliate company in which Hyper Corporation holds a stake.
Dingo is the largest music content distribution platform in Korea, boasting a total of 44.7 million subscribers across all its channels. It has approximately 200,000 digital content pieces spanning music, entertainment, and drama, with an average monthly view count of 130 million.
Hyper Corporation and Dingo have chosen Thailand, where Korean content like K-pop is immensely popular, as the first target for their Dingo Global Project. They plan to expand to neighboring countries afterward. Hyper Corporation owns the business rights and priority for surrounding countries based on its Thai subsidiary, 'Dingo Thailand.' This strategy aims to supply popular K-content globally and produce tailored content optimized for each region's culture through collaboration with local companies.
Moreover, Hyper Corporation plans to continuously provide new content secured through this collaboration to the fandom-based content distribution platform 'Xclusive.' Xclusive recently launched its first drama series, 'Begins≠Youth,' and is the world's first platform to adopt Web3.0 distribution methods. The platform is focused on securing content that attracts attention from both domestic and international consumers.
Leveraging Dingo's proven content capabilities, Hyper Corporation will expand its offerings of global-oriented content, including videos and music, within Xclusive.
This collaboration is highlighted as an exemplary case of synergy between Hyper Corporation's reorganized brands. Earlier, Hyper Corporation acquired shares of MAKEUS, Dingo's operator, and Finger Labs, the producer of Xclusive, from FSN in April. The distribution of content produced by Dingo on Xclusive completes the full value chain in the IP field, from content creation to distribution, fandom formation, and global expansion.
Lee Sang-seok, CEO of Hyper Corporation, stated, "We are mobilizing our technological and structural capabilities to expand our new content business domestically and internationally. Through our partnership with Dingo, we aim to not only supply K-content to the global market but also continuously develop global-oriented content IPs to enhance the competitiveness of our content business, including Xclusive."
Hyper Corporation is a new tech company focused on the content and bio fields. It is expanding its new content business by acquiring FSN's core content and tech affiliates, such as Finger Labs and Emotion Global. It has secured distribution channels through the fandom-based content distribution platform Xclusive and is continuously expanding its competitive content IPs.
Additionally, Hyper Corporation possesses senior wellness technologies and patents, including treatments for Alzheimer's disease, non-narcotic painkillers, and early diagnosis kits for dementia. It is also planning to launch a digital healthcare platform based on these technologies.
